VNIILM laboratory of radiation control is accredited by the radiation control lab accreditation system.

Accreditation certificate № САРК RU.0001.443215
Accreditation area of the VNIILM radiation control lab (Rus)
The lab has updated radiation monitoring, radio spectrometric and auxiliary equipment, mobile la units and can measure key dose forming radionuclides in forest ecosystems. The only lab in the sector that enables radon monitoring and radiochemical detection of strontium 90 in soils.
The lab has high quality specialists in radio spectrometry, biogeochemistry with practical experience in contaminated forest lands including liquidators of the Chernobyl nuclear accident (senior researcher A.A.Prorokov, senior researcher O.P.Vlasova).
Key research areas:
- Provision of radiation safety in radio ecological studies
- Dosimetry and radio spectrometry measurements for research by the lab and other units of the institute
- Studies of radionuclide levels in forest resources and forest ecosystem components
- Integrated toxic environmental studies
- Development and improvement of radiation control techniques in forestry
- Radio ecological mapping studies, development of radiation and radio ecological maps, geo information systems
