Subject FBU VNIILM research in 2013 was formed: from scientific research to the state task (23 R & D); competitive jobs creation and delivery of scientific and technical products on the orders of the Federal Forestry Agency (16 topics) and works for the subjects of the Russian Federation and legal persons (95 contract). Total in 2013 was concluded 134 contracts and contracts.
Developed more than 80 projects outputs, including 6 draft regulations, tested and prepared for the introduction of 19 documents.

In accordance with the priority directions of scientific research FBU VNIILM, performing public tasks and competitive subjects in 2013 obtained the following results.
As part of a scientific study to improve national forest policy and forest legislation codifying the rules established by federal laws and regulations designed:
evidence-based optimal model of the Forest Code of the Russian Federation proposals on bringing the Forest Code to its optimal model corresponding national forest policy, the draft national forest management standard.
Draft comments optimal structure for the Forest Code edition and proposed requirements for the formation of new comments to the Forest Code, which essentially boils down to the need for, basically, itemized structure construction of the content, application of basic accounting practices subordinate legislation in the analysis of certain provisions of the Forest Code.
Prepared evidence-based proposals for amendments and additions to the state program "Forestry development for 2013-2020" and "The development of industry and increase its competitiveness in the period up to 2020", taking into account the Principles of state policy regarding the use, protection and Reforestation, aimed at increasing the contribution of the forest sector in the socio-economic development of the country through the transition to intensive model of reproduction and use of forest resources and forest products development.
Adjusted draft state program of the Russian Federation "Forestry development for 2013-2020." When finalizing the draft Programme included proposals to the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation to optimize budgetary expenditure on forestry, and takes into account changes prescribed by the editors of the Guidelines for the development and implementation of government programs of the Russian Federation, approved by Order of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia from 26.12.2012 № 817, entered into force 05.03. 2013
1. Direction - Forestry and multiple uses of forests
Based on research to improve the systems of measures tending based on the study and evaluation of long-term experience in their use continued clarification and justification of specific standards of their regime, including thinnings formation - update plantations in protected forests, rehabilitation of low-value crops in regional forest conditions coniferous-deciduous forests center of European Russia and the Volga region (on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan), and steppe zones Pridonya Buzuluksky boron, as well as in the taiga forest-steppe region, Western Siberia
Prepared proposals to clarify the provisions of Regulation tending of forest areas.
As a result of studying and evaluating the effectiveness of the lease using the complex of forests analyzes parameters characterizing the state of the lease in the subjects of the Russian Federation for the period 2008-2012., Assessed the state of the forest lease areas by federal districts in Russia as a whole. Based on analysis of normative legal regulation of the lease under the current legislation has developed proposals to improve the lease and recommendations for the rational use and reproduction of forests in the lease.
Developed the following draft legal documents to statutory leases:
- Form a typical lease agreement for timber;
- Form a typical lease agreement for the construction, reconstruction and operation of linear objects;
- Form a typical lease agreement for agriculture;
- Procedure for inspection and acceptance of felling sites after the implementation of logging activities and forest tending.
As part of the development of scientific and methodological recommendations for the establishment of technical, economic and organizational conditions for increasing the proportion of selective logging during harvesting developed evidence-based recommendations to assess the accessibility of selective logging facilities, including transport, technical, economic, subject to compliance with environmental and environmental requirements. Feasibility study on the volume ratio of the continuous forest and selective cutting and reforestation with the calculations of the cost of an increase in timber harvesting by selective cutting. Developed zoning of the Russian Federation, taking into account forest zoning and comprehensive availability of forest resources and zoning map of the Russian Federation on the intensity of forestry and forest management on the basis of increasing the proportion of selective logging.
Creating on peatlands landings of wild berry plants and is one of the types of biological reclamation, promotes the rational use of forest lands, runaway peat extraction, and allows to obtain high yields, to a much lesser extent, depending on weather conditions. As a result, research draft Guidelines for the care of plantings of wild berry plants (Arctic Arctic bramble, cloudberry squat, blueberry angustifolia) on peatlands.
2. Direction reforestation, forest seed and mechanization of forestry operations
Based on the evaluation pilot production areas laid over many years with the use of practical recommendations for forest management on the zonal-typological basis, defined reference demonstration obekty.Na selected GCO presented silvicultural-and cost-effective methods and technology implementation of forestry activities on the reproduction of highly economically valuable plantings. Inventoried and passported 77 GRO, including 15 sites to promote natural regeneration; 35 - reforestation and afforestation; 6 for reconstruction of forests; 3 on forest protection, 14 - Radiation Ecology, 3 - on forest ecology, 1 - for non-timber products.
By 77 GRO have great scientific and practical importance because they are the base objects stationary studies of forests, including reforestation processes for long-term study of the formation of perspektivu.Materialy plantations on the GRO, the results of research carried out at the pilot production facilities clearly presented in published in 2013 booklets. Develop a proposal for the formation of the regime further development of production facilities for research and development and production activities, to ensure the preservation and further practical use.
As a result of studies of the formation of plantations on development and production forest areas in order to develop proposals to adjust the technology of artificial (silviculture) and combined method of recovery of target species prepared:
- Recommendations for the restoration of artificial (silviculture) and combined methods of softwood and hardwood underbrush on the forest lands of European Russia. The recommendations include a description of the features of technologies for creating forest plantations in the southern taiga, coniferous-deciduous forest-steppe, steppe forest areas of the European part of Russia and the West Siberian taiga-forest-steppe area
- Basic routings to perform activities in the reduction of artificial (silviculture) and combined methods of spruce, pine, oak underbrush at clearcuts to referring sites to the category of land covered by forest, as adjusted proposals.
In order to improve growing techniques of planting material of softwood and hardwood for reforestation and afforestation in different soil and climatic conditions in step 2013, experimental data characterizing experienced planting material, as well as survival and growth are created forest plantations.
As a result, the preparation of the scientific and methodical justify the use of seeds of different geographical origin major tree species in the Russian Federation developed seed zoning system tree species in the Russian Federation, including a list of areas of forest seed major tree species (oak, pine, fir, larch, cedar) forest areas subjects of the Russian Federation, municipal areas and forest areas.
